Quality
As a division of Star Building Materials, we are able to build homes and garages with materials from our own building supply centre and truss manufacturing plant. This buying power allows us to offer a better quality structure and building envelope at a better price than other ready to move (RTM) builders. Features that contribute to your long-term comfort, like a plywood subfloor, a plywood roof and fully sealed (not taped) windows and doors, come standard in our homes. Star RTM homes are built inside a fenced compound to ensure that only Star employee and our approved tradespeople have access to your new home. Our construction department constantly inspects and monitors the houses – not just at certain stages but at all stages of construction, ensuring your home is built to our stringent specifications.
Built on site homes follow the same rules as RTM homes when it comes to inspections and monitoring.The only difference is they are built on your property and not inside our fenced compound.
Specification
We build to CSA standards and all of our homes and cottages are covered by the National Home Warranty program –a detail that is particularly important to mortgage lenders. We were the first CSA-certified RTM builder in Manitoba, and our building yard is inspected by a CSA national representative every three months. All homes are inspected by our internal quality control staff and independent building inspector at key stages of construction.
After Sales Service
Settle into your new home or cottage knowing that we will take care of any deficiencies that may occur. We take care of these small repairs quickly so you can start enjoying your new home.
All our RTM and built on site homes come with a one year Limited Construction Warranty, so you’re covered for defects in materials and labour for the first year. You’re also covered for structural defects for up to 10 years. More information is available on the National Home Warranty website.
Our garages come with a one-year warranty on material and workmanship.
Designs
Customers often choose Star for the calibre of our house designs. We are always improving on our designs so you will fall in love with our homes and cottages immediately. For example, if several customers make the same adjustments to a design, we will modify the blueprints so future customers can enjoy these improvements.
The Buying Experience
Display Homes – Star has up to six furnished and climate controlled homes on site. Drop by 1066 Springfield Road to walk through the display homes and experience the quality of construction. We know that many people have a difficult time visualizing a paper drawing, so we built actual homes that capture the feeling of Star quality.
Sales Professionals – Our sales team knows RTM homes. We have been selling these homes for over 30 years, so we have the answers to your questions.
Product Options – When it’s time to select your options or colours, come spend an afternoon in our large, modern Design Centre. Here, you can take your time and select the upgrades and finishes you would like to add to your new home.
During Construction – Make an appointment with your project coordinator to visit your new home as it’s being built, and see the progress for yourself. We also give you access to a secure website where we upload photos of your new home during the construction process. No matter where you are, you won’t miss a thing.
